Dr. Doug Cassel

I grew up in a pastor’s home in the Midwest. Early in my childhood, I made a profession of faith that I can’t remember much about. After being under conviction for some time, I came to trust Christ as my Savior in December of 1997 when I was a senior in Bible College.

I graduated from Sauk Village Baptist Bible College, and also have an earned Master and Doctorate degree from Baptist College of America in Kokomo, IN. Before the ministry, I served for nearly 6 years in both the Indiana Air National Guard and the Air Force. I’ve had the chance to serve for 6 years in inner city rescue mission work in Indianapolis and as an assistant pastor in both Iowa and Illinois.

I have been the pastor of Bethel Baptist church since May of 2004. My wife, Jenny, also grew up in a pastor’s home in Southeast Iowa. We have been married since September of 1998. We have one daughter, Jessica, who is married to Paul Rennison. Paul is on staff as our Assistant Pastor and he and Jessie work with our youth and teens.
